In conjunction with the Director of Air and Ocean Services works with Graebel Movers International Inc. (GMII) regional offices in coordinating and forwarding consignments via air and ocean transport, as well as maintains data integrity within Graebel’s systems. This position will interface and negotiate with airlines, inland carriers, and other vendors on cost-effective routing options. This person will organize, prepare, and complete all required documentation in conformance with company standards as well as TSA and FMC regulations, when applicable.  Facilitates communication between GMII regional offices and all service providers, including GMII Accounting.   



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates the pickup, routing, and rating of international air and ocean freight shipments, and preparation of necessary documentation.

  • Daily tracking and tracing of international air freight, ocean freight, truck, and UPS document shipments via internet or phone, and communicating any changes 

  • AES transmission of customs information for international air freight shipments and ocean freight shipments, as needed.

  • Quote rates for transportation to forwarders and C & P team working within department pricing guidelines and standards.

  •  File claims for loss and/or damage with carriers.

  • Approve vendor invoices for payment, and submit to GMII accounting for additional processing.

  • Work with all parties involved in the movement of shipments to solve any problems that occur in the transportation or documentation of shipments.

  • Attend conferences, meetings, and/or training seminars when necessary, and when approved by the Director, Air and Ocean Services and/or the Vice President, Global Sourcing, and/or Sr. Vice President/Managing Director.

 

 REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred

Experience:  Must have a minimum of three years of international forwarding experience
