Title: Claims Coordinator

Location: Wausau, WI

Job Description:

Responsible for settling and allocating assigned claims, including emergencies,  in a timely and equitable  manner, while maintaining current and accurate file information and continuous communication with the transferee throughout the process.  Follow all company guidelines and  procedures when processing claims, ever mindful of all customers (internal and external) need to know.   Assist with overall GVL Claims department needs.  To ensure insurance carrier receives all Bodily Injury or potential catastrophic/litigated claims.  Provides coordination and settlement of all property damage claims and physical damage claims as assigned.  Assists Claims Supervisor in the handling of Worker’s Compensation claims and in reducing and controlling the overall cost of Casualty Claims and other functions as pertains to departmental tasks.


Education:  High School equivalency in math, oral, and written communication skills, with preference given for relevant college credits.


Experience:  1-2 years experience working in a customer service environment.  Experience with computers and office equipment.  Efficient calculator and computer keying skills in order to input information with minimal errors.  Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and timely at all levels of the organization. Ability to be accurate, organized, and attend to multiple tasks.  Self-starter with the ability to perform with limited instructions.  Ability to maintain confidentiality of data.


Licenses/Certifications/Specialized Training:  Intermediate level computer skills utilizing Windows Applications.  Ability to type 50 wpm.  AIC certification.
