Frequently Asked Moving QuestionsTo save you time, we've compiled answers to the questions our customers often ask. Of course, should you have any question, please don't hesitate to contact your Customer Service Coordinator.
How soon can I schedule my move dates? When will Graebel perform my in-home inspection/estimate? Can you schedule evening or Saturday appointments? Do I need to be available for the in-home inspection? Can Graebel move my plants? How will you ship my car? How soon do I need to disconnect my appliances? I have a very tight schedule and can only be available on a specific date for pickup. Can you accommodate my needs? What time will the moving crews arrive? Do I need to be present during the actual move? When can I expect delivery of my goods?
How soon can I schedule my move dates? We prefer to arrange the dates after the in-home inspection has been completed. This will tell us how much time will be needed to pack and load your household. Based on this information, and the distance, we'll be able to formulate your delivery spread dates.

When will Graebel perform my in-home inspection/estimate? Can you schedule evening or Saturday appointments? Our local office will call you within 48 hours after your company orders your move to schedule the in-home inspection, at your convenience. Normal hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, should you require an appointment time outside of these hours, we will work with you.

Do I need to be available for the in-home inspection? We strongly suggest you be present to identify which goods are staying and which are going, items requiring special handling, and to answer any questions. If you absolutely cannot be present, we recommend someone familiar with your household goods represent you.

Can Graebel move my plants? If your plants are very dear to you, we suggest you take them with you. Please refer to the houseplants section on the MOVE TIPS screen. Graebel is not liable for plants.

How will you ship my car?Whenever possible, Graebel will transport your vehicle inside the van with your household goods. However, during the busy summer months, Third Party Car Carriers are employed to keep our trucks free for moving household goods. In this case, we will coordinate dates with the car carrier to have your auto delivered the same day as your household goods.

Appliances must be serviced prior to your load date. We can arrange to have a Third Party service company disconnect them on your last day of packing, to allow maximum usage. Your refrigerator must be cleaned and the door left open to air prior to the driver arriving on load date.

I have a very tight schedule and can only be available on a specific date for pickup. Can you accommodate my needs? We will do everything possible to meet your needs. Your Coordinator will work closely with our Operations department to determine availability on the date you require. If you can be flexible on the delivery end, it may help us achieve the specific date at origin. There are also other options we can extend your company if you must be out of your home immediately.

What time will the moving crews arrive? It is a Graebel standard that crews arrive at residence by 9:00 a.m., in uniform and ready to work. We will call you the business day before your agreed pack date to confirm their arrival time. In addition, your driver will call you 24 hours prior to the scheduled load date to confirm arrival time.

Do I need to be present during the actual move?YES. It is very important that you are on-hand and available throughout the move. It is in your best interest to be available to direct the crew and answer questions. But, most importantly, you must be present at loading and delivery to assist in the Inventory process. This process involves the driver taking an inventory of all your furniture and cartons as they are loaded onto the truck, noting existing conditions (see the loading process section on the Welcome screen). You will be required to sign the Inventory agreeing with the conditions noted and stating that all items were loaded on the truck. At delivery, you will participate in this process again, checking off items as they are unloaded. Your participation in this process is critical to claim resolution, if applicable.

When can I expect delivery of my goods?Your Coordinator will work with you to arrive at an agreed upon delivery date spread based on the weight of your shipment, and distance. This window can be anywhere from 1-5 days long, with delivery occurring any one of those dates. Your driver will call you 24 hours before delivery, to confirm the date.
