(Aurora, Colorado) - October 2, 2008 - Almost 40 employees, friends and family of Graebel Companies, Inc. will help the fight against breast cancer by participating in the annual Komen Denver Race for the Cure® this October 5. Graebel has participated in the Denver event for the past five years.
In addition to providing charitable donations, Graebel staff and their families are participating in four events: Co-Ed Walk, Family Walk, Women's Walk and the Sleep-In for the Cure.
"Graebel as an organization has always prided itself on its community involvement, and supporting the effort to find a cure for one of the most terrible diseases afflicting women is a cause that many of our employees feel very passionately about," said Bill Graebel, CEO. "We're very proud of the efforts of our employees who are participating in this important event for the fifth year in a row, and we look forward to showing the community our support."
The Komen Denver Race for the Cure is sponsored by the Denver Metropolitan affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a national organization that advocates quality care for breast cancer patients and seeks to energize the scientific community in a search for a cure. Nationwide, the Race for the Cure is largest series of 5K runs and fitness walks in the world, and has benefited from more than one million participants since 2005. The Denver affiliate has been active since 1994. More than 61,000 Coloradans participated in the 2007 Denver event.
