(Aurora, COLO) – Last week, Graebel Relocation Services Worldwide, Inc. and Wells Fargo co-hosted a regional round table for corporate relocation professionals and global mobility executives in the greater St. Louis market. Relocation leaders from more than two dozen companies were represented at the by-invitation ‘Reinventing Relocation’ event that covered best and next practices and talent retention and acquisition. Graebel has hosted regional round tables across the U.S. since 2007.
With the U.S. economy improving in 2011, organizations are making plans to relocate more of their employees than in the recent past. According to a report covering transfer volume and costs from the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council, however, 32-percent of employees remain resistant to move. The U.S. real estate market continues to weaken companies’ abilities to relocate employees, as 88-percent of home-owners are in a negative equity situation. Since unemployment continues to be high, 24-percent of dual-income families are also reticent to forego a spouse or partner’s salary. Relocation professionals at the St. Louis regional round table, ‘Reinventing Relocation’, identified new, innovative strategies to overcome these obstacles along with policy benchmarking formulae.
