(Aurora, COLO USA) Today, Graebel has announced that two highly acclaimed speakers are slated to be the keynotes at the Organization’s 14th Annual Relocation Alliance Conference: Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering, retired U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, and Carol C. McMullen consultant and global business leader. Relocation industry member partners from around the world will attend the highly popular annual conference that will be held at the Company’s world headquarters in Colorado on October 13 and 14, 2014. This year’s theme is, “Aligned in a Rhythm of Success.”
Ambassador Pickering will present the keynote address on the first day of the two-day event. In a diplomatic career with service in each of the major continents, Ambassador Pickering reached the rank of Career Ambassador, the highest in the U.S. Foreign Service. He served as U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation, India, Israel, El Salvador; Nigeria, and Jordan. He also was the U.S. Ambassador and Representative to the United Nations in New York, where he led the U.S. effort to build a coalition in the UN Security Council during and after the first Gulf War. He has held additional positions in Tanzania, Geneva, and Washington, including Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Oceans, Environmental and Scientific Affairs and Executive Secretary of the Department and Special Assistant to Secretaries of State William P. Rogers and Henry A. Kissinger. After retiring from the State Department in 2000, Ambassador Pickering joined The Boeing Company as Senior Vice President International Relations and member of the Executive Council, where he was responsible for the Company’s relations with foreign governments and the Company’s globalization efforts.
McMullen will speak about ‘The Rise of the Rest’ to the global audience on day-two of the Alliance Conference. She was most recently a principal & managing director of The Crossland Group, a global consultancy that provides strategic advisory services to Fortune 100 and global non-profits and NGO’s. She joined the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Board in 2003, serving as chair from 2005-2013; appointed to Emeritus status in 2014 and currently serves on its Nominating and Governance Committee. Elected to the Partners Healthcare Board in 2008, she has served on the Investment, Governance, Compensation, Finance, and Nominating Committees, appointed one of five voting members on the Investment Committee overseeing an $11B portfolio; and in 2014 she transitioned to affiliated board member status while continuing on the Investment and Finance Committees. In 2014 she was appointed to the PCHI (Partners Community Healthcare, Inc.) Board. Previously, McMullen was the global head of sales for the Investment Management Group at Thomson Financial. At Putnam Investments, she held several key positions, including chief investment officer core growth equities; chief investment officer global growth equities; and head of global investment research.
