|Employees at the Graebel World Headquarters Contribute Hundreds of Toys and Raise Almost $4,000 in November for Charity Event|
|December 15, 2011|
|(Aurora, COLO) – Today, the Graebel Companies, Inc. hosted more than 400 people at its world headquarters that included law enforcement officers from across the state of Colorado, and State and Federal law enforcement agencies for the ninth annual “Cops Fighting Cancer Long Blue Line” charity event. Cops Fighting Cancer is a non-profit 501 C (3) organization that provides year-round support to individuals that are battling cancer and their families. For its annual holiday event, the “Long Blue Line”, this organization and communities from across Colorado gathered donations that included toys for the patients at the Children’s Hospital located in Aurora. In a motorcade to the Children’s Hospital approximately 50 police cruisers, 30 police motorcycles, military vehicles and personnel escorted a Graebel Van Lines 53′ trailer that was filled with donated toys.
Leading up to the event, employees at the Graebel world headquarters and Graebel Denver Movers, Inc. took part in the fund raiser and toy drive. During this morning’s press conference chief executive officer, Bill Graebel stated, “This is the second consecutive year that Graebel has teamed with Cops Fighting Cancer. In addition to donating a Graebel Van Line truck to transport toys earmarked for the Children’s Hospital patients that range in age from infants to teen-agers, our Aurora campus with its easy access to I-70, served as the logistical starting point for this year’s Long Blue Line motorcade. “
“Our people are known for their volunteer and charitable efforts in communities across America. In the last month, our employees volunteered untold hours and their efforts resulted in raising almost $4,000. Graebel employees also purchased hundreds of toys for the patients at the Children’s Hospital. A special thank you goes to Connie Stieber, Laura Earley, Terri Drapal, Ed Egan, Levi Stogsdill and Bruce Vaughn. They tirelessly organized our fund-raising contests and raffle drawings, and for hosting the breakfast for our guests that participated in the Cops Fighting Cancer event this morning,” concluded Graebel.
Jack (Mickey) Elliott, chief of staff at Cops Fighting Cancer remarked, “A heartfelt thanks goes to the Graebel organization. Never have I seen a company dig down and support a cause. Toy donation boxes, penny wars, warehouse space and the people. Thank you for the inspiration.”
During the last nine years, the Cops Fighting Cancer has helped over 200 families suffering from financial difficulty as a result of cancer. According to Aurora Police Officer James Seneca and founder of Cops Fighting Cancer, “It was truly rewarding to see how many people came together to make this event successful and to know that many more families will benefit positively as a result in the coming year.”
