|(Aurora, COLO.) – The Graebel Companies, Inc. has announced nine consecutive months of double-digit growth and year-to-date an increase in revenue of 22-percent over prior year from its combined relocation, moving and commercial workplace services businesses. Although the economy continued to sputter during 2010 and has improved slowly for the past three quarters, the privately-held company’s robust growth resulted primarily from the resurgence in volume from its Fortune 1000 clientele, combined with new revenue from recently signed accounts. During 2010, Graebel added over eighty multi-year, high-volume corporate and government clients to its relocation services and household goods moving portfolio; and, forty-three new large commercial workplace services accounts that have a national real estate footprint.
“We’re benefitting from an improving economy, a resurgent relocation industry, the optimism of our clients and the very energetic business development activities that Graebel embarked on over eighteen months ago during the economic down-turn,” said Tim Callahan, chief operating officer at Graebel. “And, we are very optimistic about the future.”
At the divisional level, Graebel Relocation Services Worldwide, Inc., ranked the number one relocation company in 2010, surpassed its prior fiscal year’s strong volume with a double-digit increase, and year-to- date this division’s business has grown by 50-percent over prior year. Likewise, the Graebel Commercial Workplace Services division has experienced 35-percent growth versus the prior year. Graebel Movers Inc., the U.S. domestic moving and storage division, reports its year-to-date revenue is up 18-percent over 2010. And Graebel Movers International, the company’s international household goods move management and forwarding division, has grown its revenue by 36-percent from a year earlier.
“We chose to not participate in the Great Recession”, explained chief executive officer, Bill Graebel. “Rather, we focused our companywide attention on better understanding and proactively responding to the rapidly changing needs of our clients in the wake of the global economic disruptions. For instance, we introduced the relocation and moving industry’s first mobile apps that furnish real-time status reporting and communication with our staff via a customer’s smart phone. We also opened our APAC regional center in Singapore and expanded our EMEA regional center in Prague, the Czech Republic, much to our clients’ delight.”
“I am really proud of the way that our team rallied and became ever more strategic and effective for our clients worldwide,” emphasized Graebel.
With growth in all Graebel business segments out-pacing the economy at large (real gross domestic product expanded 3.1-percent in the fourth quarter of 2010 and 3.8 percent is estimated for summer), Graebel has been aggressive in acquiring new, experienced talent expanding its workforce by 21-percent. The company has also been actively recruiting additional experienced household goods drivers to fulfill its goal of expanding its household goods fleet size by 20-percent in the build-up to the 2011 peak moving season.
“Throughout the weak economy, our people remained highly engaged; and retention among our employees and household goods drivers is outstanding,” said Bill Graebel. “As we continue to add capacity, Graebel is uniquely positioned to meet our clients’ workforce and workplace relocation needs and to exceed their expectations. For nine successive months, we have witnessed impressive growth and momentum. Going forward, we believe that each one of our business lines will continue to hit new high-water marks in revenue, key performance indicators and service level scores in 2011.”
